You've worked hard to become educated, build a career or a business, be emotionally mature and stable, be a good parent, contribute to your community, and honor your spirituality. (Whew!)
But for some reason you can't seem to get the money part of your life in order.
Just the thought of addressing "money issues" is overwhelming. So up until now you haven't done a lot about it.
Maybe you're a creative type - right brain stuff comes easily. And organizing your money is not a right brain activity!
You wish there were somebody who could just give you a simple way to take care of your money - maybe it could even include some color and fun!?
They don't teach this stuff in school.
You're not alone. There's so much about money we weren't taught in school. And if our parents weren't good with money or didn't teach us about it, then we're going to struggle!
As a counselor and money coach with years of experience, I can help.
I have a balanced mix of left and right brain, and an uncanny ability to see other people's points of view. It turns out these particular abilities give me an edge when it comes to helping you with both the technical, as well as the emotional, parts of dealing with your money.
I'm a certified financial counselor (money coach) and because the role of money in our society still fascinates me, I spend a lot of time learning and thinking about it! And I love teaching other women how to manage their money using simple (sometimes colorful!) systems.
I've been a counselor for about 18 years, but more importantly, I truly want to help women get good with their money so they can be free to contribute their talents to improving our world. In my opinion, we truly need it these days!
When you've made a commitment to do something, and you tell another person about it, you're much more likely to follow through. I'm here to be the witness to your commitments to yourself and to gently urge you forward.
"Working with Amy has been an eye-opening experience! She’s supportive, helpful, and insanely knowledgeable. She has really helped me to put a plan in place for saving money and paying off my debt. And I’m actually excited about doing it! It’s probably because Amy breaks everything down in a way that is accessible and easy to implement! Thank you Amy for everything!"
We'll look at your current money practices without judgment. We'll sort out what the best money system is for your needs.
You may cringe at the thought of complicated software or spreadsheets. No problem! We'll find a simple system that works for you.
I'll help you set up your system so you'll know what's coming in and going out, so you can start feeling organized and not so overwhelmed.
Once you know what's coming in and going out, you can start saving for what's truly important to you. (And you can enjoy spending what's left knowing that your bases are covered!)
If you're not clear on what to prioritize, I'll help you drill down so you know exactly what you want your money to do for you, and in what order.
But that's not all . . .
We'll look at any negative beliefs about money that have held you back. Sometimes these beliefs are buried deep in your unconscious mind - and you're not even aware of them. Not to worry - I know how to guide you to not only access those negative beliefs but to change them as well.
Maybe you worry about money all the time . . .
and constantly wonder if there will be enough. I'll guide you in exercises to help you define what IS enough so you can let go of the constant worry. I'll also show you ways to deal with strong emotions around money so they don't hold you back from your goals and dreams.
And what about . . .
this mysterious "flow of energy" that people talk about with regard to money? What does this mean and how do you direct this flow in your own life? These are questions that often come up in my coaching practice, questions I've pondered myself and that I can help you answer to your own satisfaction.
"There are three parts of money coaching with Amy Carbone that I found particularly helpful. First, she’s extremely non-judgmental and compassionate. Her training as a therapist and her compassionate personality helped alleviate the shame that had previously kept us stuck in the problem. This allowed us to be more honest and to take meaningful steps for change.
Secondly, Amy gave us a system that was straightforward and helped us understand where we stood financially and allowed us to evaluate different solutions.
Lastly, she left us with additional tools that allow us to continue the constant feedback loop of planning, evaluating, and adjusting our spending and saving on an on-going basis.
I highly recommend money coaching with Amy Carbone. In doing this work, I was surprised how quickly the changes could be implemented. Additionally, by following her program, the anxiety of financial trouble was immediately replaced with relief. I truly believe she has a program that can help you solve your problems with money."
all while respectfully keeping you on track and accountable.
That's how you get to where you want to go with your money!

Hard to believe, but I'm not really all that into money, per se.
But as I've worked with more and more women over the years, I've become acutely aware of how so many of us struggle with money, have anxiety about it, and try to avoid it; and how that holds us back from achieving our goals and having the impact in society that's so needed from us.
And that's why I got interested in money and coaching.
But don't worry, we'll start with you, and get your personal money in order. You'll be surprised and delighted by how that frees you up for other things to unfold.

"Before working with Amy, I would not even look at my online banking or open my bills on time. It’s not that I didn’t have enough money, it was just that I was so disorganized and I would get so far behind that it would be a massive chore to set things straight. I also was not paying attention to saving for retirement or for fun things like vacations. Amy taught me the importance of being in touch with my values, and aligning my values with how I took care of my money.
Now I have a regular money practice and I no longer waste money on bounced checks or high credit card interest rates. I save regularly, and actually enjoy the process of minding my money!
You won’t find a better coach or a better, kinder person. Coaching with Amy has changed my life for the better!”
I choose to take only 2-3 new clients each month. I don't believe in taking on more than I can care for - I've made that mistake before - and I reserve space and time so that I can be fully present and available for my clients.
So if you're ready to get started, it's a good idea to contact me soon so I'll have space for you.
I look forward to hearing from you.
I enjoy working with women who are in tune with what's happening in the world today, and want to contribute in a positive way. Most of the people who seek me out are women, so I gear my coaching toward them. But I welcome any men who are socially conscious and want to improve their handling of and relationship to money.
I am licensed as a Professional Counselor (LPC) and have a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology. After counseling for about 11 years, I sought out the Financial Recovery Institute to do a 9-month training program in money coaching, which also included individual mentorship and 6 months of group mentoring. I was certified through the Financial Recovery Institue in 2009 and I've been practicing as a financial counselor (money coach) since that time.
Your information will always be held in the strictest of confidence. Everything that is said in our conversations and sessions together is confidential, which means I'll not share any information with any other person.
This will depend on what issues you bring to money coaching. Some people have a very specific problem they'd like to address, like how to pay down credit card debt. In that case, a brief intensive session or a one-month intensive is enough. But if, for instance, that person also needs to work on spending habits, mindset, and knowing where all the money is going, that will take more time. Most clients take between one and six months to get in a good place with their money. At that point, many choose to continue working with me once or twice a year, or every quarter, to make sure they stay on track.
Yes! I offer both group coaching and e-courses. The best way to stay informed about which groups or courses are running or on the horizon is to sign up for my e-mails HERE. You'll be the first to know about early registration opportunities and discounts for groups and courses.
I offer a guarantee and refunds on my e-courses because that is a very structured process, and if you do the work, you will see results. The same is true for 1:1 coaching, but because the process is individualized for each person, and not delivered in a specific structure, it's not possible to offer guarantees. The results are one part my input and recommendations and 2 parts your implementation. When you enter into coaching with me I'll ask you to talk to me if anything about your coaching is not working for you, so that we can make adjustments. I also check in regularly to make sure we are on track and you are getting what you need from coaching.
If you feel more comfortable e-mailing, that's fine too. I'll get back with you just as soon as I can. Write to me at email@example.com. I look forward to hearing from you!
